Redskins free agent corner Bashaud Breeland is expected to sign with the Carolina Panthers, Ian Rapoport says.

Panthers beat writer Jourdan Rodrigue has also confirmed the news.

Breeland is set to earn $24 million -- with $11 million in guarantees -- over the life of the three-year deal.

The 26-year-old corner has been a bit of a mixed bag in four seasons with the Redskins. With eight interceptions, 59 passes defensed and seven forced fumbles, Breeland certainly showed play-making abilities, but often struggled emotionally, most notably expressing frustration when the Redskins signed Josh Norman in 2016. Breeland tallied one interception -- with a 96-yard return for a touchdown -- 19 passes defensed and 37 tackles in 2017.

The Redskins selected Breeland in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft (Clemson).
