Landon Collins was shocked Giants passed on Dwayne Haskins

After being drafted at No. 15 overall, he said, "The league done messed up."

How could three teams draft quarterbacks before him? Dwayne Haskins, a local product, was excited to be the newest Washington Redskins player, but he would use that draft day slight to motivate him.

"To be honest, I'm more motivated now than ever. There's a bigger chip on my shoulder," Haskins told ESPN in April.

And he wasn't the only one who noticed the quarterback-needy New York Giants took Duke QB Daniel Jones over Haskins with the No. 6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Honestly, I thought the Giants were going to take him,” Redskins safety Landon Collins told NJ Advance Media.

“It slipped into our hands. I was like, ‘Wow, we got the best quarterback. We stole the best quarterback in the draft. Awesome,’” Collins said about his new team's draft.

And the praise didn't stop there from the former Giants safety.

“Great guy, great quarterback, humble guy, down to earth, ready to ball,” Collins said of the Skins top pick. “Ready to tear up the Giants defense for the next five years and continue on from there. I think we’re going to go get one (a Super Bowl) — or a couple of them.”

And Haskins is ready to face the team that snubbed him, too.

“I’m just looking forward to being able to compete against those guys for the rest of my career," Haskins said on draft day.
