5 prospects the Redskins should check out at the NFL Combine

106.7 The Fan Redskins beat reporter Craig Hoffman is in Indianapolis for the 2019 NFL Combine. Each day, Craig will provide analysis on a prospect the Redskins should consider taking with the No. 15 overall selection in April's NFL Draft:

Linebacker Devin White (Louisiana State)

Height: 6'1''
Weight: 240 lbs

Insider's Take: Devin White is a consensus top-10 player in this draft and some even have him in the top 5, but somehow he has fallen in a couple of mock drafts to the middle of the first round. In fact, I did one mock draft with other local beat reporters around the country and had to triple check that he was still available for me to take on the Redskins behalf at 15. The 2018 Butkus Award winner is FAST and might run a sub 4.5 40-yard dash later this week. Needless to say, speed is something the Redskins need desperately on defense. White's leadership was brought up during every LSU game I watched this year, and on a defense continuing to find its identity, a vocal leader to replace D.J. Swearinger and supplement Jonathan Allen would be a very welcome addition. For a defensive unit short on playmakers, adding White would be a game-changer going into 2019.
