Want to remind the hometown crowd of how close they are to a championship? Bring in a member of the D.C. sports Mt. Rushmore: former Redskins coach Joe Gibbs.

Not only is Gibbs the architect of all three Super Bowl-winning Redskins teams, but he was the coach who last delivered a championship to D.C.

On Saturday night, he became the latest former Redskins (joining Chris Cooley and Chris Baker) to have the ceremony role of yelling "Let's Go Caps" shortly before the puck dropped at Capital One Arena.

This was a great choice by the Caps:

Packing in the star power, the team also brought in notable celebrity Caps fan Pat Sajak, best known as the host of Wheel of Fortune. The Caps fully committed to the bit, using the Wheel of Fortune sound effect in the arena, and using a Wheel of Fortune-esque board graphic to introduce the home team:

If this is a competition, it's debatable whether or not the Caps matched the pageantry of the Golden Knights in Game 1 and 2.

The Golden Knights had Lil Jon, Imagine Dragons and Travis Barker. Players were introduced by Michael Buffer.

The Capitals had Sting, Shaggy and Joe Gibbs. Players were introduced by Pat Sajak.

Maybe D.C. should look for its satisfaction on the ice?
