The Washington Redskins name continues to be a point of controversy, many finding the name offensive and derogatory of Native Americans.

According to Redskins legend Joe Theismann, however, the Native Americans he talks to don't see any problem with it.

Asked by TMZ Sports about the name debate, Theismann said the name isn't as controversial among Native Americans as some might think.

"I don’t own the Washington Redskins, and it’s really not my decision," Theismann said about potentially changing the name. "Dan (Snyder)’s gonna make whatever decision he feels is right."

"I’ve talked to a lot of Native Americans in this country, they seem to be okay with the name 'the Redskins.' So we try and honor them every day, and do the best we can to represent the nations that are out there."
