The Washington Nationals have reached an agreement with free agent first baseman Matt Adams, according to multiple media reports.

Adams will join the Nats on a deal worth $4 million, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale

Pending a physical, Adams will sign a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2020, per Todd Dybas

Adams played 94 games for Washington during the 2018 season before he was sent to the St. Louis Cardinals. Adams, who turned 30 in August, hit 18 home runs and batted in 48 runs while compiling a .257/.332/.510 slash line with a 118 OPS+ with the Nats last season. However, Adams struggled in 27 games with the Cardinals, batting just .158.
