Alex Smith inherited Kirk Cousins' job in Washington and also, apparently, his HVAC sponsorship with Cyprus Air.

Cousins made some waves with a Donald Trump parody commercial that was released around last year's Super Bowl, ahead of the company's President's Day sale. One of the notable lines from the commercial is the Trump character telling Cousins that since "Sneaky Alex" took his job, he's making Cousins the Secretary of Offense.

"Sneaky Alex" is a clear reference to Alex Smith, who the Redskins traded for on the eve of the Super Bowl, making it a very timely reference:

Now, in the new Smith version of the commercial (which was unveiled during the broadcast on Monday night), he gets his digs in on Cousins as well:

"Just like my new team, Cyprus Air is great with upgrades," Smith says, barely containing a smirk.

To keep things light, the commercial closes out with an older gentleman pointing at Smith and saying, "Honey, look, it's Kirk!"

The commercial would likely have been a bigger hit if Smith had actually performed at an upgraded level on Monday night. He finished with 275 yards and an interception.

On the season, Cousins is completing a career-high 71.2 percent of his passes for an average of 338 yards per game, 2.2 touchdowns and 0.4 interceptions with a 105.1 passer rating.

Smith is completing 66 percent of his passes for an average of 261 yards per game, one touchdown and 0.5 interceptions with a 92.89 passer rating.

It's still early and this is still a small sample size, but the Redskins will be hoping for an upgrade over the next 12 weeks of the season.
