Ovi, Guice on sideline for Redskins home opener

It's the regular season home opener for the Washington Redskins and some of the city's top sports names are in attendance, rocking the burgundy and gold on the home sideline.

Here's Washington Capitals' team captain Alex Ovechkin leaving his team's facilities this morning and driving to FedExField:

Once there, he got the paparazzi treatment:

He even got greeted by Josh Norman and team owner Dan Snyder:

Unfortunately, the Stanley Cup is back with the NHL after teams have already started training camp for the 2018-19 season.

A little bit closer to the gridiron, injured running back Derrius Guice is on the sideline without a knee brace after having surgery to repair his torn ACL. That has to be a welcome sight, even if he's months away from rejoining his teammates in any sort of football activity:

It's a big day for the Redskins. Not many players remain from 2011, the last time that this team went 2-0 to start the year.
