Rooster makes yet another Redskins bet

Let's face it: it wouldn't really be football season if 106.7 The Fan personality Chris "Joe the Rooster" Russell wasn't making bets on the Redskins.

On Thursday evening, Russell dropped another wager on his listening audience, in what would appear to be a pretty safe bet:

Keep in mind that the Redskins are 5-3 at the midway point in the season. Yes, it's fair to say that the offense is handicapped and the defense certainly has its limitations. But this is a team that is still more likely to play for a playoff spot than a .500 record.

But let's also remember that Russell has a mixed bag with bets, and he only seems to bet on the Redskins.

Earlier this season, he won a bet that might have required him to walk from the Half Street studios in Washington, D.C., out to Ashburn, Va., if the Redskins went a perfect 16-0:

Last season, he made things a lot more interesting, wagering that he would walk to Ashburn if the team didn't win more than five games. The Redskins eventually did, but not before making the Rooster sweat.

After escaping that bet, he swore off making more bets, which lasted approximately one radio segment, before making a wager that involved walking from the Bonchon to Nationals Park.

“From the Bonchon to the centerfield gates? That’s like two blocks,” Russell asked Grant and Danny at the time. “Oh, absolutely. I’ll do whatever you want in that regard.”

In 2014, he said he would resign from another radio job if the Redskins signed DeSean Jackson. If not for a benevolent station manager who declined his letter of resignation, Russell would have been unemployed.
