The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is finally here, and six D.C.-area teams will be dancing in the first round.

Listed from the top seed on down, here is your schedule for local college basketball games in the opening round:

Virginia (1) vs. Gardner-Webb (16)

South Region: Friday in Columbia, S.C.

This is another dominant Virginia squad, claiming a top seed in the South region. They are expected to win handily this year, but then they were last year as well.

Virginia Tech (4) vs. Saint Louis (13)

East Region: Friday in San Jose

According to the team's official communications, Virginia Tech has the longest combo streak in the country, with three-straight seasons in the NCAA basketball tournament and 10-straight seasons with an NCAA football bowl game.

Maryland (6) vs. Belmont/Temple (11)

East Region: Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Terps disappointed in the conference tournament but have a good shot at redemption in the first round. The young team (average age of 19 to start the season) has a rotation of five freshmen, two sophomores and one junior.

VCU (8) vs. UCF (9)

East Region: Friday in Columbia, S.C.

The Rams are dancing once again, but have perhaps the toughest test of any DMV team in Round 1, playing a toss-up game as a No. 8 seed.

Liberty (12) vs. Mississippi St. (5)

East Region: Friday in San Jose

Both CBS Sports analysts involved with the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, Clark Kellogg and Seth Davis, picked Liberty as a likely upset in the first round.

Old Dominion (14) vs. Purdue (3)

South Region: Thursday in Hartford, Conn.

ODU is coming off a strong season in which they won the Conference USA regular season and tournament championships, giving them an automatic bid to the big dance.
