106.7 The Fan Redskins beat reporter Craig Hoffman is in Indianapolis for the 2019 NFL Combine. Each day, Craig will provide analysis on a prospect the Redskins should consider taking with the No. 15 overall selection in April's NFL Draft:

Tight End T.J. Hockenson (Iowa)

Height: 6'4
Weight: 251 lbs
Redshirt Sophomore

Insider's Take: Iowa TE T.J. Hockenson is the full package that the Redskins have been missing at tight end. Jordan Reed has been an elite pass catcher and is finally entering an off-season healthy for the first time since 2015.

Hockenson isn’t Reed as a pass catcher, but he’s a skilled route runner with good hands and is absolutely a threat in the passing game. He projects as an elite run blocker, which the Redskins have desperately needed at tight end. At 6’4, 251 lbs he has the size to handle linebackers and hold his own against defensive ends. In Jay Gruden’s offense, versatile players are essential and tight ends are a focus. It only makes sense that a versatile tight end would be of interest at 15.
