With their seventh selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins selected linebacker Cole Holcomb.

In four seasons at North Carolina, Holcomb record 328 tackles in 49 games, with 2.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Washington took the linebacker with the final pick of the 5th round (173rd overall).

Holcomb, who measures 6'1, 231, got his start with the Tar Heels as a walk-on to the football team before leading the team in tackles in each of his last three seasons. Holcomb won 2nd-team All-ACC honors after his senior season.

He impresses many people with his speed and explosiveness, he ran a 4.48 40-yard dash at his pro day.

Holcomb told the media after being drafted he lived in the film room at UNC and learned how to beat people with his brain. He added he was speechless when the Redskins drafted him.
