The Washington Redskins have re-signed kicker Dustin Hopkins.

This assures the 27-year-old's fourth season in burgundy and gold, a sign of security for a position at which the Redskins have historically lacked it.

Hopkins missed eight games with a hip injury in 2017. Converting 14-of-17 field goal attempts (82.4 percent), he was right in line with his 83.9 percent success rate over three seasons in Washington.

The roster move comes hours before the opening of the league's legal tampering window, which allows teams to begin negotiating with players' agents prior to the official March 14 start of free agency.
