The Redskins made a flurry of cuts Wednesday, releasing linebacker Zach Brown and defensive lineman Stacy McGee, 106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman has confirmed.

Cutting both players clears $8.025 million of cap space for the Redskins, according to Spotrac.

Brown led the team in tackles with 127 in 2017, re-signing with the Redskins on a three-year, $24 million deal after that season. He followed up his strong 2017 campaign with 96 tackles in 2018.

Brown thanked Redskins fans for their support in an Instagram post: "It was fun DC. Y’all showed mad love to ya boy," he wrote. "Thanks for everything. Time to start a new chapter."
