The Redskins have agreed to terms with veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick.

Scandrick, 31, was designated for post-June 1 release over the weekend by the Cowboys, meaning he is a free agent now, but $3 million in salary cap space will be returned to Dallas after June 1. A fifth-round draft pick in 2008 (Boise St.), Scandrick has spent the past 10 seasons with the NFC East-rival Cowboys.

The Redskins were already in a bind for secondary help, and that was before losing corners Kendall Fuller (Alex Smith trade with Kansas City) and Bashaud Breeland this offseason. Signing Scandrick should help alleviate that need. Technically, Breeland is still available after failing his physical for Carolina.
