Video of Washington Redskins safety Montae Nicholson's alleged assault was released Wednesday.

TMZ Sports obtained video that appears to show Nicholson in a scuffle with several individuals during the early hours of Tuesday morning at a Northern Virginia shopping complex.

Nicholson, in a red hoodie, is seen body slamming one individual and throwing several significant punches to a person on the ground. The video, which does not show what led to the fight, appears to show Nicholson land a left hook that knocks down a man wearing a blue jacket.

Redskins Senior VP of Communications Tony Wyllie issued a statement regarding the arrest: "We are aware of the arrest of Montae Nicholson. We are gathering more information and will not comment until we have further details."

The 23-year-old safety and a female companion, Syndey A. Maggiore, were arrested and charged with assault and battery, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office. Nicholson also was charged with being drunk in public.

The assault charge is a misdemeanor and carries a sentences of up to 12 months in jail. Nicholson was released on a $2,500 bond.

The fracas took place outside the World of Beer bar where Nicholson, Maggiore, and the victims had been drinking earlier.

Nicholson was not at the Redskins practice Wednesday, according to 106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman. Washington head coach Jay Gruden announced Nicholson will not play Saturday against the Titans.

The Redskins then placed Nicholson on the reserve/non-football injury list ending his season.
