If you're desperately seeking an escape from the endless COVID-19 news cycle, we're putting our own spin on the Nationals "home opener" this year.

Yes, Thursday, April 2 was the day the World Series champs were to be honored at Nationals Park. It was certain to be a rousing celebration before taking on the Mets.

With that day in limbo, 106.7 The Fan will pay tribute to the team, give fans a platform to express their appreciation, bring in familiar voices and raise the spirits of the city -- all while encouraging donations to the Nats4Good Community Response Fund, set up by Nationals Philanthropies, to help support our community where it’s needed most.

All money raised goes directly to D.C.-area non-profits that are working to support food, health and human services. Donate at Nationals.com/Fund

Our goal is $10,670, and here's what 106.7 The Fan donors receive:

** Donations of $106+ will receive a custom Nationals Philanthropies rally towel
** The first 200 donations of $106+ will also receive a 106.7 The Fan radio lanyard
** Donations of $500+ will receive a studio tour, a meet-and-greet and access to watch a show behind-the-scenes.
** Donations of $1,000+ get to HOST a show for a weekend day (not a typo)!

And here's what 106.7 The Fan donors are eligible for:

** Anyone who donates $106 or more will be randomly selected to receive an authenticated signed jersey, ball or bat from a Nationals player.

So, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, listen for interviews with coaches and players, and for windows of opportunity to win signed Nats memorabilia with donations.
