Brandon Scherff wants fans to know one thing: He's not worried about his contract situation.

"I'm here for another year, that's all I care about," Scherff said on Grant & Danny Friday.

"I gotta control what I can control, that's why I got an agent for, you know? That's his job," he said. "I'm just worried about playing football and getting better. So, I'm not really worried about it."

"If it gets done it gets done. I really want to stay here," Scherff told 106.7 The Fan

While the Redskins two-time Pro Bowl guard isn't worried, there is some reason for concern among fans.

Washington has to be careful with how they handle the contract situations of their two best offensive linemen. With tackle Trent Williams not at training camp and holding out, there is pressure to address his contract first, despite Williams being signed through 2020 and Scherff only 2019.

SNIDER: Skins must resolve Trent Williams holdout now

If the team decides to handle Scherff's contract first, Williams may want more than him. Of course, if they pay Williams first, Scherff can then negotiate off of that number. Either way, the Redskins may have to make some painful sacrifices across the rest of the roster because of a tight salary cap situation after signing one or both of their top linemen.

The most likely situation: Williams will be paid first because he plays a premium position where the Skins lack depth and he is already missing camp. Sche

As for Scherff, well, he says he's worried.

"I'm really not worried about it," Scherff said one more time. "My agent says he'll take care of it. And I have everything thrown towards him. I'm really not worried about it, I'm just excited to be out here playing football."
