The Washington Redskins were officially eliminated from playoff contention Sunday with a 20-15 loss to the Green Bay Packers. With the season having just three weeks left, could that mean more changes are just around the corner?

Sunday on 106.7 The Fan, Chris Russell said he heard "the scene around the team after the game was not a pretty one" following the Skins' defeat and it could spell the end of longtime team president Bruce Allen's tenure with the team.

"I keep hearing that there's no chance Bruce Allen is coming back," Russell said before adding it is just a "matter of how" Allen may leave the organization, either he resigns, retires, or is dismissed by Washington owner Daniel Snyder. "I've now been told that things could happen this week."

In Russell's mind, the question right now "from everything I'm hearing is, 'Does Dan Snyder allow Bruce Allen to finish the year?'"

The Redskins, who have now missed the postseason in eight of Allen's 10 full seasons with Washington, have now gone 4-16 over their last 20 games. And after firing head coach Jay Gruden after an 0-5 start to 2019, the Redskins are at a point when major changes could be coming to the organization.

Radio.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported Sunday that Snyder "is beginning to understand the gravity of his situation and that major changes could be coming to the Skins front office this week."

That report came after NFL reporter John Clayton told 106.7 The Fan he thinks Snyder "might go a different direction" and move on from Allen. SI's Albert Breer then told Grant & Danny, Allen's job security could be linked to the Redskins' head coach search and the structure of the Redskins organization could be a reason some prospective coaches are not interested in taking the job in Washington.

A report surfaced the Saturday after Thanksgiving which said, "everything is up for evaluation in Washington after this season" and that includes ownership's plans to seriously evaluate Allen's future with the organization.

Russell said things could change and "things have been known to change" around Redskins Park, but "I just got word... that things are red-hot in Green Bay. And I haven't believed that Bruce Allen was coming back for a couple of weeks now. There is nothing that I was just told that makes me think anything other than that."
