The Washington Capitals' 2019-20 regular-season schedule was announced on Tuesday.

The Capitals will have to witness yet another banner raising, as they open up their season on the road Oct. 2 against the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues.

The Caps have their home opener three days later at Capital One Arena, where they will host the Carolina Hurricanes, who eliminated the Caps in the first round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Washington has five homestands of at least three games on the schedule, the longest being a four-game stretch beginning Feb. 2 against the Penguins at Capital One, which concludes with a home game against Barry Trotz and the New York Islanders on Feb. 10.

The Caps also have five stretches of at least three consecutive road games, including a season-high five-game road swing from Oct. 20 to Oct. 29. They play at Chicago (Oct. 20), Calgary (Oct. 22), Edmonton (Oct. 24), Vancouver (Oct. 25) and Toronto (Oct. 29) on that trip.

All four games against rival Pittsburgh will be played in the afternoon:

Pittsburgh at Washington: Sunday, Feb. 2 at 12:30 p.m. (Super Bowl Sunday); Sunday, Feb. 23 at noon

Washington at Pittsburgh: Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m.; Sunday, March 22 at noon

All games can be heard on 106.7 The Fan, the radio flagship of the Washington Capitals.
