Despite trading for Case Keenum last week, all signs indicated the Redskins are still in the market for Cardinals QB Josh Rosen if Arizona makes him available.

Dan Hellie believes Washington should not only go after Rosen, but offer Arizona the No. 15 overall pick in April's NFL Draft.

"If I'm the Redskins, not only would I give up a second-pick for Josh Rosen, I would give up my first-round pick for Josh Rosen," Hellie told The Sports Junkies Monday. "I don't understand why you wouldn't do that to get a quarterback you would have under control for the nest three to four years at a pretty reasonable sum who, in my mind, could be better and probably is better than any quarterback in this draft."

"I don't want (Daniel) Jones and I don't want (Drew) Lock, those guys are Blaine Gabbert 2.0. Give me Rosen, and if I have to give up a first-round pick for a guy who potentially could be my quarterback for the next 14 years, do it."

"I don't really understand why so many teams are hesitant to do that," Hellie continued. "I still believe in Rosen. I think that (offensive) line was so bad in Arizona last year, and the coaching staff was in turmoil, I don't think he had a chance to succeed last year."

As for the Keenum trade, Hellie said he was "surprised" by the move because of Jay Gruden's affinity for Colt McCoy

"My initial reaction is, 'Oh, gosh. Classic Redskins.' When you take a step back, you look at it, it's not gonna cost them a ton of money. Yeah, I'm fine with it. I don't hate it," Hellie told the Junkies.

"I'm a little surprised because all I've heard dating back to when I was there was how much Jay was in to Colt. He liked Colt. There was a time when he thought Colt should start over Kirk Cousins, and there was a time Colt thought he should start over Kirk Cousins."

"Obviously they're planning potentially for Alex Smith to never play again. I know they'd never say that publicly, but I think that's how you have to plan. Yeah, I don't mind it, but I am a little surprised by it."
