The Washington Capitals stunned Pittsburgh and its spoiled fans with a 2-1 overtime victory to advance to the Eastern Conference Final on Monday night.

Caps' Eastern Conference Final Schedule

It's a feat Washington hasn't seen from any of its professional teams -- the right to advance to their respective sport's final four -- since 1998, when the Caps eliminated Ottawa in five games.

That year, the Caps would move all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, only to get swept by a freight train called Detroit. Not since 1994 -- 24 years ago -- had the Caps eliminated the Pens in a playoff series, O-fer in seven attempts since.

That all changed Monday night.

RUSSELL: Caps Exorcise Their Penguins Demons

Unbeknownst to Mike Sullivan and the Penguins, the Capitals had a secret weapon: feesh.

That's right. Feesh.

Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier of 106.7 The Fan explain.

Grant: This one time was our time. Sound the sirens back at the pier! We've turned this boat around and we're coming to port, and we've got feesh! The Washington Capitals are onto Round 3.

Danny: Damn right. You are damned right.

I mean, if they both agree he's right, I guess he's right.

I've been trying to glean some hidden meaning from Grant's calls for feesh for several weeks. I remain just as clueless today. I implore you to find anything remotely resembling an answer anywhere in this four-minute montage from Tuesday's broadcast.

But boatloads of Caps fans seem to understand its significance, so who am I to keep them from their feesh?

One day I hope to decipher this secret code with which they communicate. Until then... more feesh?
