They may only be little leaguers but they did not shy away from the big stage.

The Loudoun South Little League team started their run at the Little League World Series Friday with a 3-0 win over the Barrington, Rhode Island squad.

Brady Yates broke the deadlock with a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

And that was plenty for the Virginia pitchers as Justin Lee, Liam Thyen and Chase Obstgarten combined to throw a no-hitter and strikeout nine batters.

The Loudoun lads will play the winner of the Coon Rapids, Minnesota vs. Bowling Green, Kentucky, Sunday at 11 a.m. on the ESPN family of networks.
