It will take more than a broken nose to stop Mad Max.

Max Scherzer, a day removed from taking a baseball to the face during a bunting drill, mowed down 10 Philadelphia Phillies over seven shutout innings

With the Nats up 1-0 thanks to a Brian Dozier homer, Scherzer entered the 7th protecting a 1-0 lead. And after allowing a leadoff double, Scherzer set down Brad Miller, Andrew Knapp and J.T. Realmuto to kill any Philadelphia scoring chance.

"He is worth every penny and more and these fans love it!" Dave Jageler said on 106.7 The Fan.
