The Nationals have signed veteran left-handed reliever Dan Jennings to a minor league contract, Jess Dougherty reports for The Washington Post.

The soon-to-be 32-year-old pitched for the Brewers in 2018, going 4-5 with a 3.22 ERA and one save recorded, but was left of Milwaukee's postseason roster.

He was released by the Angels prior to the start of the 2019 season after going 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA in eight spring training appearances. Jennings is 16-18 with a 2.96 ERA over parts of seven Major League seasons.

The Nationals are looking for answers, still saddled with a 7.75 bullpen ERA, the worst of both leagues. Last week they looked at free agent reliever Bud Norris, but ultimately decided to pass on the 34-year-old right-hander, whom they reportedly felt was still four-to-five weeks away from being MLB ready.

Washington has not confirmed the roster move.
