Nationals sign left-handed reliever Tony Sipp

The Nationals bolstered their bullpen with the signing of left-handed reliever Tony Sipp Wednesday, according to multiple reports. 

A 10-year veteran, Sipp pitched for the Astros the last five seasons. The 35-year old had a strong 2018 season, compiling a 3-1 record, 1.86 ERA and 1.034 WHIP in 54 appearances. 

Washington was in need of another left-handed reliever after releasing Sammy Solis. The only other southpaws in the Nats bullpen are Matt Grace and closer Sean Doolittle.
