The Nationals' August fire sale reportedly continued on Friday, Washington sending reliever Ryan Madson to the Dodgers.

Ken Gurnick of first reported Madson had been claimed by Los Angeles, who will reportedly take on all of Madson's salary.

Madson spent parts of two seasons with the Nats, coming over in a trade with the Oakland Athletics last summer. He compiled a 5-5 record in 69 appearances for Washington out of the bullpen, and just returned from the disabled list Monday.

In addition to the Dodgers taking Madson's salary, they will reportedly send minor-league pitcher Andrew Istler to the Nats.

Istler has spent the majority of the season at Double-A, holding a 4-4 record with a 2.37 ERA in 41 total appearances this year.

The Madson trade comes in the wake of the deals which sent Daniel Murphy to the Cubs and Matt Adams to the Cardinals on Aug. 21. And the Nats may not be done.
