Et Tua? Brutal. Tagovailoa says he is a Cowboys fan.

Well, the Redskins decision to just lock in and select Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young at No. 2 just got a whole lot simpler.

One of the 2020 NFL Draft's top prospects, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, has declared his allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys, so you can begin to dislike him now.

"If you're saying to me, if I can choose what team I want to play on, as far as my favorite team growing up, then I probably tell you the Cowboys, but they're so far down (in the draft)" Tagovailoa told NFL Network's Steve Wyche when asked if he was looking at a specific team.

Huh. How bout that?

Of course, there is the matter of the current Cowboys starter Dak Prescott.

"I'm not trying to bump him, I'll learn under him," Tagovailoa said when Wyche mentioned the incumbent. "I'd handle it the way that the coaches there want to handle it. Honestly, I just want to be able to play again. I wouldn't mind learning under whatever guy that's the starter. Give me a whole year to rest up and then go back out and compete, but I just want to go back out and play."

Regardless of where he ends up in 2020, Tagovailoa likely won't see the field right away as he rehabs from a devastating dislocated hip injury, in which he also sustained a posterior wall fracture of the hip, which ended his college career and may have dinged his draft stock.

While the Redskins were never likely to take Tagovailoa, he could still go No. 2 if Washington decides to trade back to accumulate draft capital so a QB-needy team could leapfrog the Detroit Lions in the No. 3 spot.

"We've looked at teams, we've talked about teams, we've talked to teams," he told NFL Network. "Somebody might trade up and you could possibly drop or you could possibly go higher. We've been talking about all those scenarios."
