No, Tiger Woods' restaurant did not give EB food poisoning

After more than a week and a half off, Eric Bickel made his valiant return to the airwaves Monday morning.

JP: Look who we have here in studio! Eric Bickel!

EB: I've got to remember how to do this again. It's been a while!

JP: Yeah. I mean, you missed the last show in Florida. Then you didn't get your flight back from Florida and missed the next show, and then that spilled into your vacation.

Bish: You had about 20 days in a row off.

The last we heard from Bickel, he was stuck in Florida after a fortuitous visit to Tiger Woods' nearby restaurant. After which, he fell so violently ill, hotel staffers thought he appeared to be on the brink of death, so they called emergency medical technicians to save his life. So, what the heck happened?

As it turns out, food poisoning from The Woods was not the culprit. Instead, Bickel has fingered the Norovirus.

EB: Yeah, it worked out. It worked out as far as being off, but I gotta tell ya, that's as sick as I've been in probably 15 or 20 years. And I talked to a lot of people over the last few days and weeks or so -- in the week-and-a-half since I've been off -- I don't think it was food poisoning. I think I got some sort of a wacky virus, like a Norovirus or something like that, because it took about three good days to get over that thing.

Bish: Yeah, because food poisoning would have gone away in a day.

EB: Food poisoning, they say after you puke a couple times or whatever, you feel better. And I didn't feel better for probably 72 hours.

Bish: And the last time I saw you, I was heading up to my hotel -- the Hilton in West Palm -- going up to my room, and you were saying, 'I'm gonna go get some snacks!' at the lobby convenience store. That was it.

JP: And that was after you went to The Woods on Tuesday. We flew back on Wednesday, so that was Tuesday.

EB: Well, listen. It was impossible for me to travel on Wednesday. No one in the country travels that sick.

After days of radio silence, grim reports began surfacing, and Bickel's precise whereabouts were shrouded in mystery.

Fortunately, we can all breathe easy, as Bickel was safely returned home.

JP: You had paramedics come to see you.

Bish: I called it, by the way.

JP: I thought you were gonna be joining us, regardless of how sick you were. You missed the show Wednesday morning. I thought you were gonna be joining us. I went for this run and then I come back, I take a quick shower and then I meet everybody down in the lobby. We get in the cars and I was like, 'Where's EB?' And then Cakes goes, 'You missed everything?' I was like, 'Missed what?' And then he said that paramedics had come to see you and there was a big commotion in the lobby.

EB: Well, obviously that wasn't my idea. I just needed to get out of the room. Went down to just sit by the pool in like sweats and a jacket. I mean, it was like 60 degrees. It wasn't like it was warm. But also, I just wanted to get out of the room, because I had been sick for 24 hours at that point, whatever. And as I was coming back up to my hotel room, I looked so bad, so sickly, that the housekeeping alerted security, and security called me and said, 'We're sending EMT to come see you.' And I go, 'Listen. I'm just sick. I know I don't look good. I'm just sick. Trust me. It's just a virus.' And they go, 'We had someone say that two weeks ago, and they had a stroke and almost died. So, just don't take it personally, but we're calling EMTs.'

Bish: Well, when they left the hotel, I said, 'I guarantee those were for Bickel.' And Cakes called BS on it. I said, 'I'm telling ya...'

EB: Let me tell you something. It was embarrassing, and I apologized to the guys, but I did feel better after they checked me out. They gave me an EKG in the room! I mean, within five minutes, they check you all out. Everything was fine, it was just a bad virus, but that's as sick as I've been in probably 15 or 20 years. And then I barely got back on Thursday because of that snow storm. It screwed up all the flights. I had to fly back to BWI! My wife had to pick me up at 12:15 in the morning!

"Trust me. Traveling on Wednesday was not an option. By Thursday, it was doable. Didn't feel better until about Saturday and then I was off and running, so I had a nice little week off, which was enjoyable. But it didn't start out great. I gotta tell you that.

Anyhow, The Junkies then transitioned back into Tiger Talk, EB resumed tweeting, and all was again right in the world.

Visible proof that Bickel is, in fact, alive and well...
