Third-year Redskins receiver Josh Doctson now has a bruised heel to go along with the shoulder he bruised in practice last week.

Both injuries occurred on the same play, so technically, he's already been dealing with both since last week.

We're just now finding out about the heel, which Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday got "stepped on" during the same corner-of-the-end zone catch in which Doctson injured his shoulder last Wednesday.

"It's just a bruised heel is all it is," Gruden said. "Right now, it's the shoe issue – getting the shoe on it right now is a little sore."

"He got stepped on, on that last play in the end zone, the corner of the end zone," he added. "He landed on his shoulder and also got his heel stepped on."

One day after the injuries occurred, Brian Mitchell reported that Doctson underwent a procedure to drain excess fluid from his heel. On Saturday, Gruden denied Mitchell's report, saying, "I don't know if I've ever heard of a heel being drained. So I don't know where that came from."

"That is not true," he said. "He did not have his heel drained. He just got it stepped on. No, he's fine."

Considering Doctson's prior injury history, it's understandable why fans might be alarmed.

However, this particular heel injury does not appear to be much cause for concern, as Doctson was a full participant in practice on Tuesday, despite his limitations.
