The Washington Redskins have a rookie out of Ohio State that is turning heads.

No, it is not first-round pick Dwayne Haskins, not yet, at least. Instead, the man in form is third-round pick Terry McLaurin.

NFL Analyst Brian Baldinger called him "the best rookie receiver" he has studied through the 2019 NFL season's first two weeks.

"No offense to (Ravens rookie) Marquise Brown or (49ers rookie) Deebo Samuel," Baldinger said. "There's not a route (McLaurin) can't run."

This week former Redskins receiver Santana Moss told Chad Dukes that McLaurin is "really showing promise."

"I look forward to every Sunday seeing this guy make plays, man, making the plays that he's making now," Moss told 106.7 The Fan. "Just when I was talking highly about Paul Richardson being No. 1, whenever they find the chance to get him more opportunities, now you have two guys you can really have as a 1-A and a 1-B. But Terry has definitely exceeded my expectations when it comes to what he can do this first year as being a rookie."

Through two games, McLaurin has 10 catches on 16 targets for 187 yards and two touchdowns, including a nice 69-yard grab in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles

Nothing new for McLaurin who has been turning heads and beating expectations since training camp.

"He's way better as a receiver than I think they imagined," Craig Hoffman said earlier about the Redskins expectations for their young WR. "And we'll see if it can carry over to games, but in practice, his ability to run away from people, whether it is vertically or horizontally across the field, has led to more big plays than any other receiver."

"I think they are, almost, a little freaked out with how good he is," Hoffman told The Sports Junkies. "They drafted him with the idea that he was the best special teams player in the draft, who would be a rotation-level receiver in the first couple years of his career, at the very least, his rookie year. And he's going to wind up starting at receiver and maybe being their best one."
