Earlier this week, 106.7 The Fan columnist Rick Snider wrote that the Redskins are "good enough to compete this season if they stay healthy."

Wednesday on The Junkies, Snider said he believes Washington has a chance to not only earn a playoff spot, but make a run at the NFC East title.

"I've always said I thought this team could win between six and nine games," Snider said. "I'd now say maybe 10. They could, if they stay healthy ... If they can stay healthy, I think this team can definitely contend for a division title."

"I don't think Philly's gonna have quite a dominant year, and I don't think Dallas and the Giants are particularly that great. They gotta win division games, and they'll be coming up in a few weeks."

Beating division rivals was a major issue last season for the Redskins, Washington winning just one of six matchups with the Eagles, Cowboys and Giants. But after such a dominating victory over the Cardinals to open the season, why shouldn't fans believe their team can contend?

"I have no problems with fans having some fun," Snider said. "This is what this is for, go ahead and have your dreams. Life will crush you anyway, so go have your dreams. We're having fun for a few days, great."

Speaking of dreams: if the NFC East title is in range, could the Redskins go for even more?

"I just saw Hurricane Florence is heading to Atlanta. I hope they don't tear it up, because the Redskins need it for the Super Bowl," Snider joked.
