Moss: Kyle Shanahan won't hold anything back against Redskins

The Redskins defense better be ready when Kyle Shanahan and his 49ers roll into FedEx Field on Sunday, Santana Moss warns.

"One thing about Kyle Shanahan, if he gets a chance to, he will embarrass you, because that's one of the things that we did when he was here," Moss told Chad Dukes during his weekly 106.7 The Fan segment on Monday, presented by Paul Henry's Windows.

Shanahan hasn't faced the Redskins since Week 6 of 2017, his first season in San Francisco, when Jay Gruden's Redskins edged the 49ers 26-24. Now in his third season, Shanahan's 2019 team has come a long way since that 6-10 squad. They just put a hurting on the Rams, winning 20-7 on Sunday, to improve to 5-0 on the season.

It would be foolish to overlook Shanahan's bitter Redskins departure – when he was fired as offensive coordinator in Dec. 2013 along with his father, Mike – as an additional motivating factor.

"His offense – I spoke to you about this years ago – that was one of my favorite offenses to be a part of," Moss said. "The third and fourth receiver can have one of the better seasons of any offense than a first and second guy is in, with this Kyle Shanahan offense"

"They're coming in here to make sure they make a lot of noise," he said. "And just knowing how he exited with his dad in that style, I'm sure they're not gonna hold back. I hope these guy know, on the defensive side, what's ahead of us and be ready for it, because Kyle Shanahan's coming and he's not holding nothing back."
