First-year head coach Todd Reirden has rounded out his Capitals staff, officially adding Scott Arniel and Reid Cashman to the team as assistant coaches on Monday.

Arniel and Cashman join assistant coach Blaine Forsythe, who's been with the organization since the 2006-07 season.

Arniel, 55, joins Reirden's staff after five seasons as an associate coach with the Rangers. He brings more than 15 years of professional coaching experience, including a season and a half as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets (2010-12). A former player, Arniel appeared in 730 NHL games over 11 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins.

Cashman, 35, spent the past two seasons as an assistant with the Hershey Bears, Washington's AHL affiliate. Prior to that, he served in various capacities at his alma mater, Quinnipiac University – four years as an assistant coach, and two as an associate head coach – where he made two Frozen Four appearances (2012-13, 2014-15).

Reirden, Arniel, Cashman and Forsythe are tasked with taking over a championship team built to make a second-straight run at the Stanley Cup.
