Well, that return didn't last long: Stephen Strasburg is back on the disabled list.

Strasburg was originally placed on the DL back in June with right shoulder inflammation, but made his return on July 20 in an 8-5 loss to the Braves. Strasburg gave up six runs in just 4 2/3 innings in the start, and had a heated exchange with Max Scherzer in the dugout after he was pulled.

In fact, it's possible that part of Strasburg's frustration stemmed from the fact he still didn't feel fully recovered.

Strasburg's continued injury struggles leave the Nationals with a hole in their starting rotation during the most critical part of their season. Strasburg was scheduled to pitch Friday in Miami, forcing the Nats to call up Tommy Milone to face the Marlins, according to's Jamal Collier.
