All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams has demanded to be traded or released by the Redskins, according to Jason La Canfora.

La Canfora says Williams' issues with the organization "are not financial," citing "numerous sources with knowledge of the situation." Rather, La Canfora says this is due to the Redskins' handling of Williams' "recent medical situation," Williams vowing not to play for Washington.

Williams had a health scare earlier in the offseason when a growth or tumor was found on his head that doctors feared could be malignant. Williams had the growth removed, and was expected to be ready by training camp. He also dealt with several injuries during the 2018 season, including to his ribs and knee

Williams has now missed the first two days of the Redskins' mandatory minicamp.
