Dwayne Haskins is not in the lead in the Washington Redskins quarterback competition, but that doesn't mean the young passer doesn't have numerous fans talking up his skills.

Veteran tight end Vernon Davis told NFL Network the No. 15 overall pick from the 2019 NFL Draft has massive potential.

"I think he has the ability, the potential to be one of the all-time greats because of his arm strength and what he brings to the team," Davis said Tuesday.

"I mean this kid is unbelievable and I watch him every single day," he added. "But he's still learning, there's that learning curve that every rookie goes through, he's getting there, he's continuing to get better. He's fine-tuning himself and I look forward to see what he's going to bring in the future."

SNIDER: Haskins worth second look as Redskins starter

Davis said on The Sports Junkies after minicamp Haskins "looks phenomenal."

"The kid can spin it, man," Davis told The Junks. "He can throw, he can really throw.

"When you watch him throw the velocity on the ball... Sometimes when (guys) throw, the ball can, it starts to, I want to say, descends a little bit. But when (Haskins) throws it's on a straight line consistently. It's just amazing to see him throw the ball. The way his arm is so strong, he probably has one of the strongest arms I've ever seen."

When asked about the QB competition, Davis pointed to the consistency that Case Keenum has brought to Redskins training camp and preseason.

"Well, of course, we all know what Case Keenum can do. He's proven himself that he has the ability to go out and win games, especially when he was over with Minnesota," Davis said.

While Haskins has proved himself capable at Ohio State, Davis said the biggest question remains, can he prove it at the NFL?
