You can already see the effect of the World Series champion Nationals on the next generation of baseball fans.

In a video posted by Adam Eaton, a local travel baseball team, Alexandria's Mount Vernon Mavericks, can be seen emulating the right fielder's home run celebration he shared with Howie Kendrick, made nationally famous along their championship run, in which they pantomime driving a stick shift. It's a touching display that pulls at all the heart strings.

Hey @hkendrick47 , what do ya got on the Mount Vernon Mavericks home run drive?? #shakeandbake #solid.

"As the manager of these 10yo clowns, I can personally vouch how much you guys have impacted their love for the game," their manager, Michael Sheedy, replied to Eaton's Instagram post. "Yes, they do the EXACT proper shark response for 1B/2B/3B...but the “clutch” show was new this Saturday. Go Mavs!"

Here's how the Mavericks measure up to the real thing (from multiple sources, because who doesn't want to re-watch World Series coverage as many times as possible?) :
