The ping pong balls did not fall in the Wizards' favor during the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday night.

The Wizards (32-50) entered the lottery with a nine percent chance of landing the top pick, the sixth-best odds in the league, but would only secure the ninth overall selection.

The Wizards had just a 3.8 percent chance of falling to the ninth pick, a 29.6 percent chance of drawing the seventh pick, and a 20.6 percent chance of drawing the eighth pick.

That means Duke sensation Zion Williamson, the most hyped NBA prospect since LeBron James went to Cleveland first overall in 2003, will not be coming to The District. The Wizards won't even get a crack at Murray State guard Ja Morant, the consensus No. 2 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The New Orleans Pelicans ultimately drew the No. 1 pick. The Pelicans – with a six percent chance – had just the seventh-best odds in the NBA of landing the top pick.
