While the Wizards aren't causing much noise in the NBA playoff race these days, a moment in their game against the Lakers Tuesday night launched an explosive debate on Twitter.

In the first quarter, Lance Stephenson appeared to cross up Jeff Green before nailing a midrange jumper, sending the Lakers bench into a frenzy.

But upon second viewing, it became clear Stephenson had stepped on Green's foot.

Some fans quickly came to Green's defense, arguing Stephenson stepping on Green's foot negated the greatness of the crossover.

Others, however, sided with Stephenson.

As for Green himself, the Wizards forward was all smiles after the game and wasn't concerned with Twitter's verdict on the play.

"I can confirm that he did step on my foot, but run with it. I don't care," Green said. "He 'crossed me,' if that makes everybody happy."
