Markieff Morris calls Knicks center 'stupid-a** rookie' after preseason ejection

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports
The Wizards' preseason opener Monday night against the Knicks included plenty of drama, Washington losing in overtime 124-121.
But the biggest moment of the night occurred in the second quarter, as Markieff Morris was tossed following an altercation with New York rookie center Mitchell Robinson.
Morris and Robinson got into it following a missed free throw, and both were assessed a technical foul.

Morris continued to chirp at Robinson throughout the next possession, until eventually the referees had enough and issued the Wizards forward a second technical foul, ejecting him. Reminder: this was a preseason game.

After the game, Morris offered his side of the story. In case it wasn't obvious, he does not have a high opinion of Robinson.
Morris on the 2 techs
"Me & Coach talked about it and I respect that as a coach, I’m supposed to be the bigger person but what he said crossed the line as a man and I wasn’t feeling it. Regardless of the situation, I was wrong for approaching but it happens like that sometimes.”

The refs certainly weren't swallowing their whistles; there were a total of 83 personal fouls in the game, nine players finishing with at least four fouls. But Morris' ejection certainly won't make fans think the Wizards' mental fortitude has improved, which Scott Brooks noted post-game.
